# Duties of the Inspector in charge of the block of buildings rented by the Sanitary Board for the accommodation of persons displaced from Plague infected houses.
1. He shall act generally under the instructions of the Medical Officer of Health and of the Assistant Medical Officer of the District.
2. He shall reside in that part of the block set apart for the purpose.
3. He shall superintend the work of the scavenging coolies employed in the block and shall be responsible for the maintenance of strict cleanliness both in the houses and in the lanes and streets surrounding them.
4. He shall visit daily every floor of every house in the said block and see that the tenants do not accumulate refuse therein and that no obstruction to light and ventilation is put up.
5. He shall use every endeavour to keep the block free from rats, and shall adopt such measures as the Medical Officer of Health may direct for this purpose.
6. He shall make careful and frequent search for rat holes and rat runs and shall at once report any that he may find to the Medical Officer of Health.
7. He shall without interfering with the daily avocations of the people residing in the block, endeavour to see all of them daily at one time or another and shall at once report any case of sickness that may occur among them.
8. He shall daily check the number of occupants of each floor by the lists supplied to him and shall see that no additional persons occupy any part of the block without authority.
9. He shall keep a daily record of the name, sex and age of all new arrivals with the addresses from which they have come and also a record of the departure of any persons from the block to reside elsewhere, and if possible, shall ascertain to what address they have removed.
# Duties of the Inspector in charge of Burials.
I. He shall attend daily at the Government Mortuary Kennedy Town at such hour as the Medical Officer in charge may require and shall take note of the bodies that are returned as having died from Cholera, Plague or Smallpox.
II. He shall see that the above bodies are properly and decently coffined and that they are then conveyed to the Shektongtsui wharf and put on board the Sanitary Board junk.
III. He shall proceed in the Board's launch to the cemetery at Cheung Sha Wan and shall see that the above bodies are properly interred.
IV. He shall keep a register of all interments at the Cheung Sha Wan Cemetery and shall see that the register numbers tally with the numbers on the stones at the foot of the graves.
V. He shall ascertain from the Kennedy Town Hospital each morning whether there are any bodies awaiting burial and if so he shall see that they are properly coffined and conveyed to Cheung Sha Wan Cemetery and there interred.
VI. He shall perform such other duties as the Medical Officer of Health may require.
